Andy Massie OBE, Founder / CEO
I spent 30 years leading high-stakes technology adoption—on the ground in Afghanistan, from the cockpit as an RAF Top Gun Instructor to the boardroom as a Chartered Director. My military career taught me a fundamental truth: even the most advanced technology is useless without the right people and processes to harness it effectively. Know-how beats tools hands down every-day.

Dr. Jasmine Grimsley, Co-Founder / Chief Data Officer
I have a PhD in Neuroscience and extensive experience in data science and AI ethics. I've applied my expertise to critical challenges ranging from public health models for COVID-19, operational intelligence in industry, to advanced data systems in national security contexts. Along the way I have learned to focus on trust and ethics in technology solutions — especially if we want to allow technology to enable actions that serve society and to tackle inequality.
why we built Catalytic AI
Our paths converged through a shared frustration. During COVID-19 and periods of military conflict, we both witnessed how bringing deep expertise directly to complex problems delivered rapid, innovative solutions. Yet in the wave of Gen AI's arrival, we saw a critical gap: vendors selling tools and consultants writing reports, but no one tailoring AI below enterprise level or making it work systematically within the organisations that would benefit most.
We built Catalytic AI to bridge this gap—creating the implementation partner we couldn't find ourselves. Our experiences through national crises showed us the power of data-driven approaches when effectively embedded in an organisation's workflow. We apply these same principles to AI adoption, focusing on pragmatic solutions that demystify complex jargon and work with the grain of each organisation's unique reality.
We're motivated by more than business success. Catalytic AI is built on a commitment to ethics and social impact, dedicating a portion of our profits to developing digital skills in underserved communities in the UK and overseas.
